Well, where to start with this one… sometimes it is just difficult to put into words when you experience something that is so perfect, for so many reasons. When asked to film a wedding video on the coast of New Zealand (Whatipu beach, about 1 hour outside Auckland) surrounded by rain forest, beach and nature as well as the most awesome couple, their family and friends – how could we refuse!
I think the highlights film below speaks for itself but it really should be said that this is by far one of the most awesome experiences we have ever had the pleasure of filming. The family were fantastic to work with and couldn’t do enough for us – showing us other parts of Auckland, New Zealand, making sure we were made welcome – and actually making us feel more like one of the guests, there to have a good time – than film the wedding!
The wedding was set in Whatipu, which is a remote beach outside of Auckland (about 1 hours drive) very little electricity, no shops, no residents – lots of wildlife, rain forest, sea and sand. We stayed in these little cute cabins, which I believe some were first built over 100 years ago. So much of this wedding was truly unique.. dinner was a spit roast of pig and lamb, the seats were hay bails, the tables home-made (hours of work by the groom!) and the officiant was the couples friend! (who could also speak some Mauri) …. We also had the pleasure of working with David Chan, an assistant DP from Auckland – who assisted for the weekend.
Watch and enjoy!
